A DAMA DE BRANCO

As cataratas de Montmorency nos arredores da Cidade do Québec estão no centro de uma lenda que até hoje continua a ser contada. Ao longo dos anos, pessoas juram que viram a silhueta esguia e branca de uma mulher lá. Acredita-se que seja a de Mathilde Robin, que se matou em desespero em 1759, usando seu vestido de casamento. A história diz que ela se jogou na cachoeira depois de descobrir que seu noivo tinha morrido durante uma batalha contra os ingleses, que tentavam invadir a cidade.

The falls of Montmorency on the outskirts of the city of Quebec are at the heart of a legend that continues to be told. Over the years, people swear they saw slim silhouette and a white woman. It is believed to be that of Mathilde Robin, who killed himself in despair in 1759, wearing her wedding dress. The story goes that she threw herself into the waterfall after discovering that her fiancé had died during a battle against the British, who were trying to invade the city.
